Cecco d'Angiolieri, da Siena. “Sonnet. He would slay all who hate their Fathers.”

This sonnet is commonly paired with the sonnet preceding it, another wonderful piece of vituperation against his father.

DGR's source text was Raccolta di Rime Antiche Toscane (II. 162).

This seems to have been a late composition, as we judge from DGR's fair copy of his Italian source text, which is copied on paper stock with an 1860 watermark.
